About Julie

Julie began her career under the mentorship of Edinburgh’s Charlie Miller OBE. She went on to win the prestigious British Hairdresser of the Year award, sponsored by Schwarzkopf.

A lifelong learner, Julie was selected for the elite Fellowship Academy of Merit and Excellence (F.A.M.E.), an annual programme recognising Britain’s most promising hair designers. This opportunity took her to Washington, D.C., where she trained with industry icons like Guy Kremer and Nicky Clarke.

Expanding her expertise, she studied makeup artistry at the London College of Fashion, specialising in editorial, TV, and film. She further refined her craft at GRIMAS in Amsterdam, where she mastered special effects, theatrical makeup, and body painting.

As a freelance hairstylist, Julie has travelled internationally, drawing inspiration from the beauty and fashion cultures of Italy, Ibiza, and Amsterdam.

A holistic approach profoundly influences her artistry — she is also a certified yoga teacher and breathwork coach, integrating wellness into her work to create a genuinely transformative experience.

With an ever-evolving portfolio and an unrelenting passion for creativity, Julie remains one of Scotland’s leading hair and makeup artists.
