About Julie

Julie McGuire is a professional hair and makeup artist (HMUA) based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Known for her creative precision, calm professionalism and timeless style, Julie brings out the best in every face and every brief, from screen and stage to campaign shoots and creative collaborations.

With a career spanning 30+ years, Julie’s work has appeared in leading fashion publications, including British Vogue, and on the faces of notable figures such as Tilda Swinton, Leonardo DiCaprio, Frankie Corio, David Beckham, and Shirley Manson.

Her portfolio includes collaborations with top UK production companies, working across film sets, TV productions, commercials, and editorial shoots.

Whether she’s building a character on screen or creating flawless, camera-ready looks for fashion spreads, Julie brings technical expertise and an understated, modern aesthetic.

Alongside her production work, Julie co-runs Beehive, a boutique hair salon in Leith, Edinburgh, where she offers tailored haircuts, colour, and makeup services to private clients.
