Cinderella: A Fairytale — Behind the Promo Shoot

I had the pleasure of creating the hair and makeup for Olivia Hemmati, who plays Ella in Cinderella: A Fairytale — this year’s festive production at the Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh.

The creative direction called for something natural and timeless — a look that felt rooted in Ella’s world rather than overtly “princess perfect.” I kept the skin fresh and luminous, added warmth through soft tones, and used gentle texture in the hair to capture that sense of quiet magic and transformation.

Working with photographer Mihaela Bodlovic is always a joy — her portraits have such movement and depth. Together we wanted Olivia to feel authentic, alive, and already part of the story audiences will soon see unfold on stage.
